Certified Professionals Field Trip

The 2024 class of Certified Professionals visited Houston to continue their project studies and visit two member manufacturing facilities. In this trip, the professionals worked on their group projects and each made individual presentations in furtherance of their public speaking skills. The first field trip was hosted by HDPE resin expert Doug Keller at LYB’s Matagorda resin plant.

The all day trip included a visit to the plant laboratory, the control room and a walk by of one of the four reactors at the facility. The next day the team visited Modern Polymer’s Pasadena plant where HDPE resin is converted into HDPE pipe. Thank you Doug Keller and the LYB plant team in Matagorda, Texas. Taylor Holladay, Christian Frisby and Robert Alvarado hosted the same group at their plant facility in Pasadena TX where they make HDPE pipe for all of the major HDPE pipe markets. Thank you to the CP class and all those that made it possible.

The Certified Professionals program is An Alliance for PE Pipe program to develop professionals and knowledgeable industry insiders to assist in the development of the PE market.  Managed by Alan Ambler, PE, sessions are held monthly and attendance at PE Showcase and the annual field trip is mandatory for success in the program.
