Date: Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

Exclusive Members Only Content… Want to learn how to sell against PVC more effectively? The dominant pipe in municipal water and wastewater is PVC pipe. Why is that the case? What drives municipalities to use a pipe that is inferior to HDPE and is more expensive? What market conditions favor PVC pipe? These issues and the fundamental design and behavior characteristics will be addressed. Sign up at www.pepipe.org This session is only offered to members of the PE Alliance. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

Webinar #5 – Above Ground Installations

Date: Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

The circumstances that drive owners to use HDPE at and above grade while unique are not rare. HDPE pipe is regularly used to solve water and wastewater delivery challenges in temporary and permanent above ground applications. While the pipe behavior varies somewhat, its leak free performance does not. Participants will learn how HDPE behaves unrestrained and exposed to the elements and they will also learn how to design with HDPE in those applications. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question. #fuseitorloseit

Webinar #10 – Installation Methods

Date: Tuesday, May 13th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

This classic HDPE oriented session focuses upon the 8 primary methods of installation of HDPE pipe. The most common method is open trench so it will get the most time, but the other 7 will be shared as well. Ever wonder how pipe bursting can work so effectively? Ever thought HDD was non sensical? Covered topics include: compression fit, marine, plow in above grade, and the more common methods open cut, pipe bursting, HDD and sliplining. The HDPE experts will cast a light on the common and niche methods that make HDPE what it is today. This session will appeal to both the novice and the expert, but it is geared to the pipeline designer with little HDPE experience. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

Webinar #11 – HDPE Design Toolbox

Date: Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

Fundamental learning for the curious pipeline designer defines this important annual PEA webinar topic. We could also call this one, “What every HDPE design engineer should read.” The team will discuss the most often cited HDPE research, documents, technical notes, standards and practices and why they are important to the industry. While you may not need to read them for yourself, it is the wise designer or owner that familiarizes herself with these resources. We may not show a lot of videos during this session, but this content remains “required reading” for the novice and intermediate design engineers and owner operators. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

Webinar #12 – Engineering Top Ten Questions (Advanced)

Date: Tuesday, September 9th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

Last year the PE Alliance processed close to 1000 inquiries ranging from simple questions on dimension ratio and modulus of elasticity to complex engineering consultation for a long run HDD river crossings. So we see inquiries requiring little time and even more challenging questions needing hours of study. We selected the top ten most important and frequent questions with a few honorable mentions which we will share along the way. This session will appeal to anyone involved in the design or management of municipal pipe systems. This is a great session to watch on YouTube as well. However you want to capture the content, be our guest and let us know how we are doing by sending a note to info@pepipe.org CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

Webinar #13 – Design With A Casing: Crossings, Sliplines and HDD

Date: Wednesday, September 10th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

Casing pipes are not uncommon in all types of piping systems. Rehabilitation of a pipeline via sliplining project required an existing pipeline to serve as a conduit or “casing.” In addition to sliplines, new installs often include an AHJ mandating a casing pipe, particularly when crossing interstates, railroads, and similar. Join this webinar to learn best practices of designing with HDPE and casing pipes. Topics covered include allowable pull force, external pressure allowances, spacers, grouting, pipe deflection and more. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

Webinar #14 – Metallics and HDPE Pipe

Date: Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

The reason plastic pipe is now more common than metallic pipe is that steel, ductile iron and cast all corrode in the presence of soil and water and civil engineers understand that concept and failure mechanism. Neither PVC nor HDPE tuberculate or corrode. Learn more about this issue and how HDPE solves for that issue. HDPE pipe will be compared and contrasted with both steel and ductile iron in this popular content from the PE Alliance. Attendees will learn more about why metallics pipes fail, why HDPE does not fail that way, how HDPE does fail and how owners can ensure HDPE will is being put in the ground correctly. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

On Tuesday, September 30, 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST the webinar, “Large Diameter Transmission Mains and HDPE Lining,” addresses larger diameter transmission mains. This webinar will provide information from the Water Research Foundation covering statistical analysis of failure for some large diameter pipes and the durability and reliability of large diameter HDPE pipes. This webinar will include:

  • Insights into the additional efforts overcoming logistical constraints for generally working with pipes of this size.
  • Details of actual construction projects for both rehabilitation and new installation methods.

This webinar is directed toward design engineers and municipalities that maintain large diameter pipelines that may be nearing the end of service life. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

Webinar #16 Trenchless Tech and HDPE – A Contractor’s Perspective

Date: Tuesday, October 14th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

Register for the fourth and final in a series of free HDPE webinars sponsored by the Alliance for PE Pipe. On Tuesday, October 14, 2 – 3:15 p.m. EST the webinar, “Trenchless Technologies and HDPE – A Contractor’s Perspective” will be offered. A municipality’s first use of HDPE is often through a trenchless installation method. HDPE is a viscoelastic material that allows for a generous allowable bending radius, ruggedness and durability that are valuable characteristics during trenchless installations. An overview of HDD, pipe bursting and sliplining technologies, what type of equipment and materials are involved and examples of successful and failed installations will be presented, as well as the most common reasons for failure. Calculations for HDD pipe installation such as net external loads, average radius of curvature for bore entrance and exit lengths, axial stress along bore path, allowable tensile load and maximum pull force during HDD will be presented. Actual construction considerations will be provided by an experienced contractor. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.

Webinar #18 – Construction Sequences

Date: Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 | 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM EST

Pipeline construction in the water main and wastewater pipe world has been disrupted by the technology introduced by the HDPE pipe industry. Pipe joined using fusion, narrow lay down areas, shortened construction cycles, long pipe strings, pressure testing above ground and trenchless methods all combine to ‘change up’ a stable design and construction world. This session focuses on those disrupted construction sequences and identifies the features and benefits of an HDPE solution that is pushing the boundaries of time tested norms. CEU/PDH offered, just stay until the end and respond to the question.
