Certified Professionals in Houston

It was an honor for the Alliance staff to host 14 Certified Professional candidates this week in Houston for a series of plant tours, technical sessions and hands-on HDPE exercises.

The 2026 team-building week began with a visit to #Dow’s Pack Studios in Freeport, Texas. Dow Pack Studios is a packaging innovation and testing center that helps companies rapidly develop, evaluate and commercialize HDPE and other plastic technologies.

On Tuesday, the group visited Modern Polymer Pipe & Extrusions in Pasadena, Texas, where they observed 4″ #HDPE pipe being coiled directly off the extrusion line and 24-inch DR 11 pipe being manufactured and cut to length.

Wednesday featured a visit to #LYB’s facility in Matagorda County, Texas, where candidates learned how ethylene gas is converted into HDPE resin pellets. These pellets are then shipped in rail cars to pipe manufacturers and other converters throughout North America for extrusion into finished HDPE pipe.

In addition to the plant tours, the team participated in technical presentations, industry discussions and collaborative learning sessions designed to strengthen their understanding of the HDPE industry from raw material production to finished pipe manufacturing.
